Solaris

Method overview: shared self-attention over multi-player video tokens, then per-player action and first-frame conditioning.

Solaris from New York University (VisionX): video generation and multi-agent-world-model; Verified.

Solaris is a multi-agent interactive video world model from NYU's VisionX group (paper arXiv 2602.22208): multiple agents act inside one generated world. In this catalog the runner is verified — the inference-only runtime is vendored in-tree and consumes the official Orbax checkpoint (nyu-visionx/solaris) and eval datasets from Hugging Face or a local mirror.

What it is for

Pick solaris when you need an action-conditioned world stepper: recorded actions and a frame in, a rollout out. Use it for interactive world inference, not a text-to-video prompt dump.

The runtime is JAX/Orbax-based per the recorded checkpoint format; internals beyond the recorded tasks are not stored here. The upstream license is flagged for manual review. It is published by New York University (VisionX).

Catalog tasks include video generation, multi-agent-world-model, and interactive-video-generation. Catalog aliases include solaris-wm. Documented outputs include video.

Recorded evaluation entry points include WorldModelBench (Multi-agent world-rollout quality).

Runtime contract

Optional eval_types, experiment_name, eval_num_samples, num_workers, and num_frames_eval; artifacts solaris.mp4.

CLI task profiles: default. WorldFoundry binds SolarisPipeline.

Family status: Verified.

Inference launches one sample per visible GPU — eval_num_samples must be a multiple of the visible GPU count. Official weights and eval datasets resolve from HF or a same-layout local mirror.

In-tree inference-only Solaris runtime is packaged under worldfoundry/synthesis/visual_generation/solaris/solaris_runtime.

Running in WorldFoundry

The catalog launch is worldfoundry-eval run solaris --pipeline.task-profile default. The command builder above switches --pipeline.task-profile among recorded tasks and still emits worldfoundry-eval run.

It runs in the unified environment worldfoundry-unified-cu128 (Python 3.11, CUDA 12.8).

Recorded weight repositories include nyu-visionx/solaris. Prepare the environment and check local assets with bash scripts/inference/prepare_model_infer.sh solaris. Add --download to fetch missing public checkpoints.

Status: Verified.
